Black Emporium 2018 Creator Letter

(I am being lazy and reusing part of last year's letter, hehe.)

Greetings, fellow curiosity seeker in the Black Emporium!

This exchange was a lot of fun last year, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone makes for the collection. Whether you are writing for me or making me a lovely drawing, I hope I can give you plenty to work with! I’ve got a few prompts for each request, below, to give you some idea of the sort of thing I’d like, though of course they are optional details. I've specified whether I want art or fic or either (or both!) in each character set.

If you are writing, feel free to use the canon first names for all Wardens/Hawkes/Inquisitors, or to use your own character’s name. Perchance you are arting, I can provide pics of my OCs upon request if you would like to use one of them (if I haven't already linked them).

On the off chance my prompts aren’t working for you, here’s some other tropes and elements I like:

For fic:

Colette
Colette is an academic out in the field hunting for clues about who Ameridan was, Ameridan has been rescued after 800 years of fending off a powerful dragon abomination. Imagine if he survived and could give answers to some of the theories she'd been researching, while she helped him get up-to-date with history (very thoroughly up-to-date, lol). I'd love a story where Colette's history crush turns into a full-blown romantic entanglement, while Ameridan tries to find his place in a vastly-changed world.

We only get brief glimpses of Ameridan and Telana, and their sad, heartbreaking ending. I'd love to read more about them in happier times, whether just hunting demons together, navigating both the Dalish and Orlesian nobility, or just something domestic and fluffy.


Female Lavellan/Vivienne; Female Lavellan/Leliana - art or fic

My somewhat vain and occasionally stlylish mage Lavellan had a massive crush on both Vivienne and Leliana, whom she admired as beautiful, powerful, and cunning people. I'd like a story with a Lavellan who loves intrigue, and playing the Game, once she's introduced to it, while Vivienne or Leliana find themselves smitten with her and vice versa. I'd love fic or fanart for either of these pairings.

If you'd like to use one of my OCs, I based my Knight-Enchanter Lavellan loosely off of Oscar from Rose of Versailles, so as far as aesthetics, that's where she's coming from.

For fic:
These guys are adorable, and I love sending them on missions in the game and feeling all proud when they succeed. I'm more looking for a slice-of-life type story, or maybe something about how each member of their company joined up. Anything for them, just as long as they make it out alive. 

For art:
The four of them laughing together either in the Herald's Rest or out at a campfire in the Hinterlands.


Valta/Heidrun Thaig Titan; Renn/Valta - art or fic

The Guardian, Titans, Sha-Brytol

Valta is the only dwarf we know for certain is connected to a Titan, which was discovered under the Thaig that is explored in The Descent. I want to know so much more about that bond, how deep it goes, how it feels for her, how the Titan communicates it's feelings and wants. Where is Valta now, and what is she up to with the Titan? What does the Titan look like to her mind, now that she knows it?

Renn and Valta spent years together exploring the Deep Roads, fighting darkspawn, and watching each other's back. I'd love something, anything for them.


Feynriel/Female Lavellan/Solas - fic

Dreamer

For this one I'm kind of looking for a post-Trespasser story about a rogue or warrior Lavellan in Tevinter, who has managed to garner the affections of both of these two powerful Dreamers, who also find each other fascinating. For the purposes of potential fic, I'm going to ask that the whole "Destroy the Veil" plotline is resolved and everyone came out alive and not hating each other, though if you can work it in and have it make sense, please do.

Between them, Solas and Feynriel become a bit competitive, though Solas is more subtle about it, while Feynriel is eager to try out the things Solas teaches him about his ability. Between them, they give Lavellan some very interesting dreams, with her dubious consent. Sometimes, she can't distinguish the dreams from reality, while the two mages manipulate the Fade around her and each other. How she feels about all of this is up to you, frightened, excited, annoyed... 

Inception-type dream shenanigans are welcome, and none of the characters needs to be physically present with each other. It's fine if this all plays out in dreams rather than in the flesh (though that's good, too).

This set of requests is mostly inspired by this set of photos (yes, I know, there isn't a deer).

If I've been reading the hints in the lore correctly, all elves were spirits in the beginning, who eventually took on form. Some of them tried on different shapes, for example Dirthamen, a bear, Ghilan'nain, the halla, and Solas, a wolf.  I'd like something with them shifting, moving through a world that hasn't quite been settled or tamed, finding their roles and making mischief for each other, though smooching is good, too.
